A celebration of culture through fun

After the huge success of last year’s “Friendship Day” collaboration with our friends from the Catholic Kindergarten, the 11th of March 2010 saw the second instalment of this cultural exchange initiative take place at our Serangoon premises where LFS played host to about 250 children.
The “Friendship Day” project is an on-going cultural initiative done to garner interaction with the aim that this ‘out of the classroom’ learning experience will enrich our students and create greater awareness, while fostering friendships

The day started off with a high note literally, as students from both schools gave a fabulous rendition of popular French

and Chinese children’s songs respectively, coupled with dance performances which saw ‘Kung-fu’ moves done by the children from the Catholic Kindergarten.
The atmosphere was filled with plenty of excitement which got the audience from both schools livened-up and ready for the next part of the itinerary which involved fun under the sun with a number of outdoor games.
The children needed very little coaxing to soak in the atmosphere as they enjoyed the numerous games organized by the teachers from LFS. The children mingled well and could be seen partnering with their counterparts for the various games.
With time well spent under the sun the students eagerly anticipated their meals - prepared with French flair - comprising of croissants, sandwiches, fruits and juices. As they ate and played together, friendships were formed and laughter filled the air. To calumniate the day’s events, our students presented their new friends with gifts in the form of bookmarks which they had carefully and painstakingly prepared and in return received cards and sweets which they thoroughly enjoyed.
