SMUN 2008
The United Nations (UN) is an international organization founded
in 1945 to facilitate cooperation in international law, international
security, economic development, and social equity. The UN exemplifies
a model of the world based on peace, development, and the strength
of debate, dialogue, and diplomacy. Model United Nations conferences,
which are held all around the world, serve as an educational program
for university students, which simulate real UN activities and situations
to teach and actively engage participants in debate about some of
the most important issues that face the world.
Singapore Model United Nations (SMUN) is the flagship event of
the Political Science Society of NUS.
This year, SMUN was from the 3rd to 6th June 2008 at the National
University of Singapore Kent Ridge Campus. Here are some pictures
of LFS students during the SMUN 2008.
