International Schools Cross Country 2008

Perfect racing conditions at the McRitchie Reservoir for the days races. LFS assembled with some 49 runners spread over 5 age categories from 7 years olds through to 11 years of age.

Our junior runners in the 7 year old boys age group set the benchmark with Constantine Rossi winning the first race and the rest of his team finishing inside the top 10. What a great start to the day!

The 7 year old girls were next. Louise Middleditch winning her race very comfortably with the rest of the girls finishing inside the top 15. We were on a roll!

The 8 year old boys were next. A tougher race with Jean Birling finishing a well deserved 3rd place. The rest of the boys finishing inside the top 20. The 8 year old girls followed with Jade Fort finishing 5th and the rest of her team inside the top 20 also.

The first 4 races having the biggest groups with over 50 runners in each race.

The 9 year old boys was a fast paced race Emeric Bucaille finishing in second place with no t-shirt due to the humid conditions. Laura Plan in the girls race finishing 5th. Again the rest of the runners finishing inside the top 20.

The 10 year old boys had a tough race with a very fast pace. All the boys finishing inside the top 20. In the girls race, Océane Blayo (a last minute entry) finishing very well in 3rd place in another fast paced race. The rest of the girls also finishing inside the top 20.

Our last age group the 11 year olds, saw Gaspart Donada putting everything in to finish strongly in 3rd place.. Anais Benghozi running alone in the girls race also finishing strongly.

Overall the LFS team put on a excellent performance, finishing in second place for the team trophy narrowly beaten by Tanglin Trust who seemed to have the biggest team by far.

A big thank you to all the parents who came along to cheer on the children. A special thank you to Maureen, Joy and James Middleditch who helped with the organization on the day.
