LFS fielded a team for the recent International Schools junior Olympics held at Serangoon Stadium on Saturday 15 March. Our team was filled with athletes from 7 years old to 12 years old. The team has been diligently training for the past few weeks, with some giving up their recreation to practice and work on their events.

With a week filled with rainy days, our outlook was pretty bleak, but Saturday dawned full of sunshine and the promise of a hot day ahead.
Our athletes turned up at 7H45, full of energy and determination to do their best for their School. They were taken through a good warm up with Celine and were set to take on the world of athletics….well at least quite a few other international schools, including UWC, AISS, TTS, Chatsworth, Dover Court, Hollandse School and a couple of local schools.

The athletics carnival had a range of events including 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m and 4 x 100m relays, along with shot put, long jump and high jump. LFS students participated with determination and athletic prowess winning several events and getting through to the finals (top 8 athletes) for most of the events they entered - no mean feat when they were competing against 20 - 30 other athletes to get there. All athletes should be very proud of their efforts as they really did LFS proud! A big thank you to all the parents who helped throughout the trainings and on the day itself, without your support these ventures would not be possible.

Le LFS a présenté une équipe aux dernières "Olympiades junior des écoles internationales " qui s'est tenu samedi 15 mars au Serangoon Stadium.
Notre équipe comprenait des athlètes de 7 à 12 ans, qui se sont entrainés assidument ces dernières semaines, prenant beaucoup de plaisir et à travailler les différentes épreuves.
Après une semaine très pluvieuse, nous avons heureusement eu un samedi très ensoleillé et chaud.
Nos athlètes ont commencé leur journée à 7h 45, pleins d'énergie et de détermination, prêts à donner leur maximum pour leur école. Après un bon échauffement avec Céline, ils ont pu se lancer dans le monde de l'athlétisme… parmi les autres écoles internationales comme UWC, AISS, TTS, Chatsworth, Dover Court, Hollandse school et quelques autres écoles locales.

Cette rencontre athlétique comprenait plusieurs épreuves comme le 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, relais 4 x 100m, lancer de poids, saut en hauteur et saut en longueur.
Nos athlètes ont participé avec beaucoup de détermination, gagnant plusieurs épreuves, mais aussi avec plusieurs places sur le podium ou en finales pour la plupart des épreuves, sachant qu'ils concourraient contre 20 à 30 athlètes à chaque fois.
Tous doivent être très fiers de leur participation et leurs efforts, car ils ont fait la fierté du LFS et de leurs entraîneurs!
Un grand merci aux parents qui nous ont aidé lors des entraîinements et le jour de la compétition, sans leur aide cet événement n'aurait pu être possible.
Et Encore un grand Bravo a tous les athlètes !
